Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 10, 2026

Welcome to Splitcopy ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our website (splitcopy.com) and use our service.

1. Our Role

  • Data Controller: We act as the Data Controller for the direct Customers who create an account and manage tests on splitcopy.com.
  • Data Processor: We act as a Data Processor for the End-Users (visitors to our Customers' websites where the Splitcopy script is installed). Our Customers are the Data Controllers.

2. Information We Collect & Storage Mechanisms

A. From Our Customers (Visitors and Users of splitcopy.com)

  • Account Data: Email address, name, and dashboard preferences.
  • Billing Data: Processed securely via Stripe. We do not store full credit card details on our servers.
  • Platform Cookies: We use essential cookies on splitcopy.com solely for authentication, session management, and keeping you logged into your dashboard.

B. From End-Users (Visitors to Customer Websites) We adhere to strict Data Minimization principles. The Splitcopy script installed on customer sites does not use cookies.

  • Session Storage (Strictly Necessary): The script utilizes browser sessionStorage locally on the End-User's device to store a test group identifier (variant ID) and a temporary session ID. This ensures UI consistency (preventing text from flickering as the user navigates) and links interactions to a single browsing session. Data is automatically cleared when the browser or tab is closed.
  • Event Data (Views and Clicks): We collect interaction data when an End-User views a specific text variant or clicks a tracked element on a Customer's site.
    • Purpose: This data is sent to our servers solely to calculate conversion rates and maintain the statistical weights of our Machine Learning (Multi-Armed Bandit) optimization algorithms.
    • Privacy Guardrails: This data is tied only to the temporary session ID. It does not contain Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as names, emails, or persistent cross-site tracking profiles.
  • IP Addresses: We temporarily process End-User IP addresses strictly for the technical delivery of our script and event routing via our CDN/servers. IP addresses are instantly discarded and are not stored, profiled, or used for tracking.

3. How We Use the Information

  • To operate and maintain our multi-armed bandit (MAB) infrastructure (including calculating statistical probabilities based on aggregated view and click data).
  • To manage Customer subscriptions and process payments.
  • To provide Customer support and improve the reliability of our API.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with trusted third parties strictly to operate our service:

  • Cloudflare: for infrastructure hosting.
  • Stripe: for payment processing.
  • Google: for account authentication via Google Login.
  • Google Analytics: for website traffic analysis and platform usage tracking.
  • Tawk.to: for providing live chat support to our users.

5. Data Retention

  • Customer Data: Retained as long as the account is active. You can request account deletion at any time.
  • End-User Data: sessionStorage data naturally expires when the End-User closes their browser. Raw Event Data (views and clicks) sent to our servers is rapidly aggregated into statistical ML weights. We do not store historical, individual End-User browsing timelines.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you reside in the EEA, UK, or California, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data.

  • Customers: You can manage your data directly within the Splitcopy dashboard.
  • End-Users: Because we act as a Data Processor, please contact the owner of the website you visited (our Customer) to exercise your privacy rights.
